Her War: Red Poppies & the White Waratah @ Wollondilly Heritage Centre & Museum
Mar 13 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Her WarCelebration/Launch – Her War, is an  exhibition about the women behind the patriotic push to support the British Empire in WW1. Objects used are re-examined for their power to persuade. Family letters and postcards often reveal the confusions and contradictions in the lives of families in small towns and villages in Wollondilly during and after this war.

The book Red Poppies and the White Waratah vividly describes the stories of our local heroines from original research.

Book Launch & Exhibition Opening by Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO at 2:00pm. Register now to attend.

The Oaks Public School Memorial Wall @ The Oaks Public School
May 28 – Jun 10 all-day

CALLING ALL PAST & PRESENT STUDENTS, FAMILIES, TEACHING STAFF, PRINCIPALS AND VOLUNTEERS OF THE OAKS PUBLIC SCHOOL

The Oaks Public School commenced in 1862 and celebrated 150 years of education to the local community in 2012. The teaching staff and the P&C would like to capture and preserve the Schools historical background by building a ‘Memory Wall’. Funds raised through the initiative will go towards the refurbishment of the school library to ensure we have a modern 21st Century facility for current and future generations of students and teaching staff of the School.

We are inviting you to purchase a plaque for $50, which is a great opportunity for you to be remembered as part of the school’s history. The plaque will be 10cm x 7cm and allow for four lines of text.
For questions please contact the school on 02 4657 1185 or email the P&C on topspandc@outlook.com.au
The order form has more information and a sample of the plaque.

Please complete The Oaks Public School Memory Wall – Order Form or it is available on the school’s website.

Orders close on 10th June 2016.
