A Peep at our Pioneers @ Wollondilly Heritage Centre and Museum
Apr 20 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

The National Trust has announced the Australian Heritage Festival 2024 to be held from 18 April 2024 to 19 May 2024.
As part of this celebration The Wollondilly Heritage Centre and Museum is hosting an event on Saturday 20 April 2024.

The event will consist of guided tours of two local cemeteries that have memorials of local pioneers who impacted on life in The Oaks area and the wider shire of Wollondilly.

Following the tours visitors are invited to visit the Wollondilly Heritage Centre and Museum for light refreshments and a guided tour.

Cost is a gold coin. Bookings by email are requested.

St Matthews Anglican Graveyard at Old Oaks contains pioneers from as far back as the First Fleet. The attached church was opened in 1838 to serve the local pioneers and their convict staff.

St Aloysius Catholic Cemetery started in the 1860s and includes some memorials moved from Burragorang Valley when the valley was flooded for Sydney’s water supply.

The Wollondilly Heritage Centre and Museum has six buildings of historical exhibitions plus a well appointed seating area to relax and clean restrooms.St Matthews cemeterySt Aloysius cemetery
